Chesapeake Bay Golf Club to host U.S. Amateur and U.S. Open Local Qualifiers

RISING SUN, MARYLAND – Chesapeake Bay Golf Club is proud to host the 2027 U.S. Amateur Local Qualifier on Wednesday, June 30, 2027.

The qualifier will be administered by the Maryland State Golf Association (MSGA) on behalf of the USGA.

Details:

Eligibility: Open to any amateur golfer whose Handicap Index does not exceed 0.4 at the time of entry.
Format: 18-hole individual stroke play.
This is a single day qualifier. Successful qualifiers will advance to Final Qualifying.
The 127th U.S. Amateur will be held at Oak Hill Country Club in Pittsford, New York, from August 9–15, 2027.

Chesapeake Bay Golf Club will also host a 2028 U.S. Open Local Qualifier on Wednesday, May 10, 2028.

The qualifier will be administered by the Maryland State Golf Association (MSGA) on behalf of the USGA.

To submit an application for local qualifying, players must meet the following criteria:

Professionals: Any professional golfer is eligible to register.
Amateurs: Amateurs must hold an active, verified Handicap Index not exceeding 0.4 at the time of entry.
Format: 18-hole stroke-play competition.
Successful qualifiers will advance to the 36-hole Final Qualifying stage.
The 128th U.S. Open Championship will be held at Winged Foot Golf Club in Mamaroneck, New York, from June 15–18, 2028.
