Evan Barbin Qualifies for Notah Begay National Championship

GALLOWAY, NEW JERSEY. August 15-16, 2020 — Chesapeake Bay Golf Club’s Evan Barbin qualifies for the Notah Begay III Junior Golf National Championship at Koasati Pines Golf Club in Kinder, Louisiana November 15-17, 2020. The National Championship will be televised on the Golf Channel in prime time.

Over 2,500 players registered to play in the Notah Begay III Junior Golf National Championship through 18 Regional Qualifiers across the nation. The Atlantic City Regional Qualifier was held at the Seaview Resort Golf Club Pines Course Saturday-Sunday, August 15-16, 2020. The top 3 players in the Boys 14-18 Division advanced to the national championship.

Evan Barbin shot 73, 72 to finish in 2nd place for the tournament in the Boys 14-18 Division. In the player stats, Evan led the field in “Par 3 Leaderboard” scoring (-2) and was 2nd in “Most Pars or Better” (24 pars, 5 birdies) for the tournament. Evan’s 72 on Sunday tied for the low round of the day – under pouring rain conditions.

National Championship

The Notah Begay Jr. Golf National Championship will be held at Koasati Pines at Coushatta in Kinder, Louisiana November 15-17, 2020. For Boys 14-18, the course will play 6742 yds, par 72.

This championship provides a platform for players to compete against the best junior golfers in the country in an open qualifying series.

The Golf Channel will televise the event in prime time – with over 2 hours of broadcast time – something that has never been done before. The championship will host the 140 players that advanced through their respective Regional Qualifiers (over 2,500 registered players).
