LUTHERVILLE, MARYLAND, October 21, 2025 — Evan Barbin of Chesapeake Bay Golf Club has been named the 2025 Maryland State Men’s Player of the Year by the Maryland State Golf Association.
Highlights of Evan’s outstanding achievements this year include his winning the 104th Maryland Open Low Amateur Award. He was the first round low medalist in the field shooting a 5-under par 65, and finished the tournament at 6-under par and tied for 3rd place overall.
In the U.S. Amateur final qualifying event at The Club at P.B. Dye, Evan shot a round of 3-under par 67 to advance to compete in the 125th U.S. Amateur at The Olympic Club. This was Evan’s second appearance at the U.S. Amateur – having played last year in the 124th U.S. Amateur Championship at Hazeltine.
Evan had exempt status and made the cut for match play in the 104th Maryland Amateur and adding to his points total, Evan and his father Andy Barbin, Sr. captured 1st place in the 84th Maryland Father-Son Championship.
