Austin Barbin Finishes T1 at 69th Delaware Amateur Championship

BRIDGEVILLE, DE – June 22-24, 2020 — Chesapeake Bay Golf Club member Austin Barbin shoots an impressive 14-under par to tie for first place at the 69th Delaware Amateur Championship on June 24, 2020 at Heritage Shores (par 72, 6,713 yards).

Austin Barbin got off to a hot start firing a 1st round score of 7-under 65, giving him a 3 shot lead on the field going into round 2. Highlights from his 1st round include a 4-under front nine 32, and 2 birdies and an eagle on 18 with just one bogey.

In round two, Austin shot even par on the front nine, and 1-under on the back for a 71 and 1-under par for the day. Austin held on to the lead at the top of the leaderboard tied at 8-under par with Dawson Anders.

The 36 hole final rounds on Wednesday, June 24th started with wind gusts at the start of Round three – Austin was able to pull off a 2 under front nine, and 2 over back nine – even par for that round. The final round Austin shot a 6-under 66 – with a clutch eagle on the 18th hole – to finish at 14-under and tied for first place with Dawson Anders and Evan Brown.

A three hole aggregate playoff resulted in 3 pars for Austin Barbin, with Dawson Anders breaking the tie with a birdie on the 1st playoff hole. Evan Brown finished par, bogey, double in the playoff.
