Evan Barbin Wins Low Amateur 104th Maryland Open

TOWSON, MARYLAND, July 16, 2025 – Evan Barbin of Chesapeake Bay Golf Club wins the Low Amateur Award in the 104th Maryland Open held July 14-16 at The Country Club of Maryland.

Evan fired a 5-under par 65 with seven birdies to lead the tournament after the first round of play. Evan shot a 2-under par 68 to bring him to a 7-under par total which placed him in a three-way tie for the lead after round two with Larkin Gross (professional) of Westwood CC, and Benton Weinberg (professional) of TPC Potomac at Avenel Farm (the eventual winner).

Evan finished the tournament at 6-under par total, besting the other Amateurs in the field by 3 strokes.

The Harry Pitt Trophy for Low Amateur was added to the Men’s Open Championship in 1961.
