Zach Barbin and Wayne Fisher Capture 2026 A.B. Thorn Memorial Pro-Am
Zach and Wayne capture historic event
LANCASTER, PA, September 24, 2026 — PGA of America Golf Professional Zach Barbin of Chesapeake Bay Golf Club and amateur partner Wayne Fisher put together a winning performance at Lancaster Country Club, finishing at 9-under-par to claim the 2026 A.B. Thorn Memorial Pro-Am title.
Barbin and Fisher separated themselves from the field with a strong team performance, finishing one stroke clear of two teams tied for second at 8-under-par.
The victory adds another accomplishment to an impressive season for Barbin, who has continued to establish himself as one of the Philadelphia PGA Section’s standout competitors. Representing Chesapeake Bay Golf Club, Barbin once again delivered when it mattered most, teaming with Fisher to capture the championship at one of the Section’s historic events.
Finishing just one stroke behind the champions were PGA Professional Ryan Rucinski of Applebrook Golf Club and amateur partner Alex Healy, along with PGA Professional Jeff Fick of Moselem Springs Golf Club and amateur partner Brandon Raihl, who shared second place at 8-under-par.
For Barbin, the victory came at a tournament steeped in Philadelphia PGA history.
The event was first played in 1936 as the Lancaster Pro-Am before eventually being renamed the A.B. Thorn Memorial Pro-Am in honor of A.B. Thorn, Lancaster Country Club’s former PGA Head Professional. Thorn also served as the Philadelphia PGA Section’s first vice president from 1942 through 1944.
Nearly nine decades after the tournament’s inaugural playing, Barbin added his name to the event’s list of champions, earning the title alongside Fisher at historic Lancaster Country Club.
The 2026 A.B. Thorn Memorial Pro-Am provided another opportunity for PGA Professionals and their amateur partners to compete together in celebration of the game, the Section’s history and the relationships that make professional golf unique.
For Barbin and Fisher, that tradition ended with a championship — and a 9-under-par victory at Lancaster Country Club.
